General purpose front-brim (Type 1, Class E) hard hats are non-vented and they have a front brim to protect the face from sun, reduce glare, and help shed rain. Type 1, Class E hard hats protect wearers from vertical impacts and high-voltage conductors (up to 20KV). These hard hats are used by construction workers, road crews, and other workers as required by OSHA.

Hard hats and helmets protect the wearer from hazards that impact the head. They have a suspension system that moves the impact force though the body to feet, helping to reduce strain to the head, neck, and spine. These hard hats and helmets are ANSI rated and OSHA compliant. Types and classes combine to indicate the impact type (vertical only or vertical and angled) and level of electrical protection (none, low voltage, or high voltage) provided. Hard hats and helmets should be inspected regularly for structural integrity. Hard hats are used by construction workers, road crews, or where required by OSHA safety regulations.

3M™ Hard Hat with 4-Point Ratchet Suspension H-700 Series is comfortable, tough and lightweight safety headgear that helps protect the top of the head due to the potential hazard of small falling objects or exposed fixed objects that may be bumped into.

A 4-point ratchet suspension adjusts easily to allow for a customized height and fit that best suits the individual who wears the hard hat. Workers wearing this hard hat will also appreciate its low profile design and balance, which provide for a more comfortable and less obtrusive feel. A short brim allows for better upward visibility, a feature that potentially enhances both safety and productivity. The soft brow pad cushions the forehead and is removable for easy replacement. For added versatility, the hard hat features accessory slots to accommodate 3M’s cap mounted ear-muffs, headgear, faceshields, and welding helmets (all sold separately).

A hardhat is commonly worn in these industries: heavy and light industrial, construction, oil and gas, road work, forestry, and mining. This hard hat meets requirements of ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 Type 1, Class C, G and E. The hat may be worn in either the forward or reverse donning position. Hat weighs 12.8 ounces.

The suspension system inside the hard hat helps absorb the effects of the impact to dissipate the force. Even small objects can cause significant injury due to the force built up from the momentum of falling.
