Chemical Protective Suits

Chemical Protective Clothing

Chemical protective clothing (CPC) is clothing worn to shield those who work with chemicals from the effects of chemical hazards that can cause injuries on the job. It provides a last line of defense for chemical safety; it does not replace more proactive measures like engineering controls, Chemical protective clothing is worn over personal clothing to protect workers in chemical manufacturing, hazardous waste cleanup, sanitation, and agricultural pesticide applications. Aprons and smocks cover the front of worker's torso while leaving the back open to help keep workers cool. Encapsulated suits cover the entire body and include a faceshield to protect workers from extreme hazards. Seam tape seals gaps between gloves and encapsulated suit sleeves to ensure that gasses and vapors cannot enter the suit. Coveralls cover the torso, arms, and legs while overalls leave the shoulders, arms, and sides open to help keep workers cool, The Types of disposable coveralls Type 1: Gas tight EN 943-1, EN943-2, Type 2: Non-Gas tight Garments EN 943-1, Type 3: Liquid tight EN14605, EN ISO17491-3, Type 4: Spray tight (saturation) EN 14605, EN ISO17491-4, Type 5: Protects against airborne particles EN ISO13982-1.
