The NoiseSensorLITE has been certified safe for use in Class 1 Division 2 hazardous environments, which include locations like mines, gas pumps and stations, processing plants, and food and beverage manufacturing locations.
Built on the technology of the MK427 NoiseSensor, the MK440 is an integrating instrument, meaning it can be added to existing PLC data logging and monitoring systems with relative ease, eliminating the need for a lengthy and complicated setup procedure. Unlike conventional sound level meters (like the Optimus+ Green), the NoiseSensorLITE converts the noise level in decibels, into an industry-standard 4-20mA output, which can be connected to a standard DCS/SCADA-based system, allowing you to add noise measurement capability to an already-established system.

The ultimate tool for environmental noise
The MK:440 NoiseSensorLITE is a robust weatherproof outdoor noise monitor, which converts the measured noise level to decibels and provides a standard 4-20mA output, suitable for various process systems including SCADA and DCS.
The measurement range has a factory-selectable 70dB span, making it ideal for measuring and detecting noise events. The high-reliability pure analog noise monitor requires little user intervention and features an easy to remove rain protection windshield and housing for easy calibration.
Electrical connections:
The MK440 is supplied with either a ½” NPT female thread to facilitate fully-protected cabling using standard ½” piping or M20 gland for standard cable entry. Four connections are required to the unit, for power and the 4-20mA control loop. These connections can be made by wiring directly to the internal PCB via the screw terminals supplied.
Mounting options:
The available mounting accessories include U-bolts for vertical and horizontal pipes and a wall mounting bracket. For the best noise monitoring performance, we recommend mounting the MK:440 away from other surfaces, which may reflect noise levels and therefore produce inaccurate measurements.
