Flare nut wrenches have a 6-pt. design that allows more contact with the fastener's sides than the 12-pt. style and prevents rounding the fastener's corners. They have a standard, fixed head and an opening in the wrench head that allows a line or other obstruction to pass through it. These double-end wrenches are SAE (inch) size and have a different size on each end so that each wrench can be used for two different size fasteners.
