Heat-stress monitors, also known as heat index monitors, measure the environmental heat index or heat stress to determine what temperatures actually feel like on the ground. They are commonly used on jobsites and for recreational and various field applications to help prevent injuries and heat exhaustion among workers, athletes, and military personnel and protect livestock and crops from heat stress.
